Fighting Cancer on the Fairway

Tuesday, June 15th, 2010

For the 14th year, our client the Family Reach Foundation is having their annual Golf Classic and Dinner Reception and spots are still available! This year’s event is taking place at the Brooklake Country Club in Florham Park, New Jersey on Monday, July 26.

Family Reach Foundation provides financial relief and heartfelt support to families fighting through the overwhelming challenges and costs of cancer. Co-founded by the Colangelo and Morello families, in honor of their children who lost their fights to pediatric cancer, Family Reach helped over 300 families in 2009 – almost one family per day!

In addition to golf and dinner spots, sponsorship packages are still available including the $750 Compassion Sponsor with these benefits:

• Logo prominently placed on dinner program
• Logo/link on Family Reach Foundation website
• Signage at designated areas
• Two (2) guests for dinner

Over 140 golfers and 300 dinner attendees are expected from the Northern New Jersey area and this is a great opportunity to market local businesses to the community as well as to enjoy some golf, food and philanthropic fun.

To sign up for a sponsorship or to attend, click here. We look forward to seeing you there!

Supporting Children’s Literacy in 2010

Monday, December 7th, 2009

We’re currently working on 2010 events including The Current Events’ Toast to Literacy Gala Dinner in New York City, hosted by Kristine Johnson, co-anchor of CBS 2 News. According to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, one out of every five of our nation’s school-age children suffer from reading failures. Improving the literacy rate is an ongoing effort for communities, schools and families across the nation and study after study touts that reading the newspaper contributes to elevated literacy levels.

The Current Events is the national newspaper for kids, a bi-weekly paper that reports on the latest national and world events in an age-appropriate way for students in grades 2-8. The funds raised at this spring event will subsidize subscriptions for children at underprivileged schools. Tickets are $400 and sponsorships start at $1,200 for a pair of tickets and a journal listing up to a $40,000 industry exclusive sponsorship that includes:

• Company logo on mailings, e-invitations, website, all other promotional materials and included on issues of The Current Events newspaper for 2010-2011 school year;
• Prominent mention in pre- and post- public relations, including press releases, media advisories and potential executive interviews and a special section of the The Current Events newspaper about the event;
• Partnership opportunities for promotions to The Current Events 50,000+ subscribers list for the 2010-2011 school year;
• On –site branding (step-and-repeat, signage and a gobo spotlight);
• Inside Front, Inside Back or Back Cover-page ad in the Dinner Program;
• Placement of company products and/or paraphernalia in gift bags;
• Ten (10) VIP passes to the dinner (one table), among other benefits.

Lighting the Night in Hoboken, NJ

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

Over a six-week period in autumn each year, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society holds nine Light the Night Walks all over New Jersey in order to raise awareness and funds for research into the treatment of blood cancers and other types of cancer.

On Saturday, October 10, 2010, Light the Night will take place at Pier A in Hoboken, NJ and Ginger Donnan Events is thrilled to be involved as a member of the BNI Gold Coast team, a business networking group for Hudson County.

Check in begins at 5 p.m., opening ceremonies start at 6 p.m. and are followed by the two mile Walk. Come join us! Sign up here with a donation or just to Walk and meet the members.

If you can contribute, you should know that:
- A donation of $25 provides patients and their loved ones with FREE booklets that contain up-to-date information on their disease and help them make informed decisions about their treatment options.
- A donation of $50 makes possible a Family Support group with a trained facilitator where comfort can be found and experiences can be shared among patients and family members.
- A donation of $100 helps supply laboratory researchers with supplies and materials critical to carrying out their search for cures.
- A donation of $1,000 makes possible one- on-one conversations with health care specialists who provide patients with information about their disease, treatment options, and helps prepare them with questions for their health care team.

Autism Speaks to Young Professionals at the NYSE

Friday, July 17th, 2009

The organization that started it all for Ginger Donnan Events is having a fundraising event that we actually get to attend, rather than plan! Autism Speaks to Young Professionals is a cocktail party taking place on the trading floor of the New York Stock Exchange. We can’t think of a better way to entice the Generation Y crowd into getting involved in a cause that will severely impact our future (our children!) unless we do something about it.

The event takes place on Thursday, August 6 from 7-10 p.m. It’s being organized by the sassy and savvy Justine Benisch, who we’ve had the pleasure to work with on numerous Autism Speaks events, so it’s pretty much guaranteed to be a fantastic evening. $50 pays for your entrance fee, open bar, hors d’oeuvres, and of course, supports an organization that is changing the future of autism.

See you there!
